West Rockingham County ARES in conjunction with The Interstate Repeater Society will be sponsoring a SkyWarn Storm Spotter Training Class Presented by Meteorologist from NWS Gray, Me on Tuesday November 8th (11-08-2011) @ 6:30 PM at Pinkerton Academy 5 Pinkerton St. Derry, NH 03038. We will be using the Lecture Hall in the New Freshman Academy Building @ Pinkerton Academy. Its on the Pinkerton Street side of the campus. When you come in off Pinkerton Street you then go around the right of the 3 Story Freshman Academy to the Front Entrance which faces the campus. Continue down the hall pass the stairs and the Lecture Hall is on the Left. From Manchester + Concord areas via Routes 93 South & 293 South 1. South of Manchester, Routes 93 South + 293 South join to become 93 South 2. Take Exit 5 for North Londonderry 3. NOTE: Exit 5 has changed (and still under construction). Directional sign on 93 South states “North Londonderry 1 mile“ -- but it is barely one-half (½) mile 4. Enter the very long Exit 5 ramp. At bottom of ramp, turn left onto Route 28 South to Derry 5. Go 3 miles, passing Solid Remodeling (on right) and Atlas Fireworks (on left) 6. After Solid Remodeling and Atlas, pass through 3 stoplights. Landmarks (all on the right) are Wal-Mart, 7-11 and Applebee’s 7. At 4th stoplight (Citizens Plaza is your landmark), get in far-left lane; turn left onto Tsienneto Road 8. Immediately bear right onto Pinkerton Street 9. Go just over 3/10 mile; note Hoodkroft Street (on your right) 10. Immediately after Hoodkroft Street (on your right): Turn left into newly-paved short driveway; you’re at the rear of the new Academy Building (red brick)
From Portsmouth + Epping areas via Route 101 1. Route 101 East or West 2. Exit 5 onto Route 102 East/107/156 towards Fremont-Raymond: 17 miles to Derry
3. Bear right to stay on 102 East (107 goes to the left and Fremont): 4. Stay on 102 (also known as the Chester Road, becomes the Raymond Road) 5. In Chester Center (intersection with Haverhill Road/121A), pass Spollett’s General Store on left; Chester College is on right; stay on Route 102 South 6. Route 102 becomes the Derry Road 7. At rotary, take 2nd exit (enter at 6 o’clock, exit at 3 o’clock) 8. Turn left at the tall, obvious “Antiques” store onto Pinkerton Street 9. Go up Pinkerton Street 10. Pass an old white building with a steeple (on right, white with deep red shutters) 11. Pass a long + low one-story building (also on right, brick with white wood) 11. At rotary, take 4th exit (enter at 6 o’clock, exit at 9 o’clock) 6. Turn left at the tall, obvious “Antiques” store onto Pinkerton Street 7. Go up Pinkerton Street 8.
